Wet Coast Wools Workshop!

Holman recently reprised the Jawa needle-felting workshop he gave at The Makery in Anaheim, California back in April. This time, however, it was in his home town of Vancouver, British Columbia!

Holman teamed up with the fabulous folks (Glenda and Mike) at Wet Coast Wools, an amazing wool and yarn store on the west side of Vancouver. Check out their beautiful space, all set up and ready for the workshop participants.

There were 14 eager participants, who by-passed various Car-Free Day events, Father’s Day celebrations, Dragon Boat Festival races and Aboriginal Day festivities to attend our event! Here they are needling their little hearts out.

For those who are unfamiliar with needle felting as a craft technique, it involves stabbing loose wool again and again with a specialized barbed needle. The needle barbs catch the loose wool fibers, and each stab entangles the fibers. As the wool fibers entangle, the wool gets firmer and firmer, allowing you to sculpt the wool.

In the end, a whole new army of fuzzy Jawas was brought into the world. It was a great time had by all and we hope to team up with Wet Coast Wools to do it all again in the fall!
