Summertime and the living is cozy
We don’t know what your part of the world feels like these days, but it’s been balmy and downright summery in Vancouver! And in honour of the soon-to-be official start of summer, Canadian Living magazine has chosen some great reads for its summer 2013 issue, including Cozy Classics: War and Peace and Les Misérables for the little kids!
Below the image from Canadian Living is a new poster designed by Frederica Hollas for the Jane Austen Center in Bath, England, celebrating 200 years of Pride and Prejudice book covers. The poster includes the Cozy Classics version! Below is both the full version of the poster and a detail.
Happy impending summer, everyone!

Cozy Classics around the world
Here are some news and notes for April on Cozy Classics from around the globe!
1. Cozy Classics is profiled in the May / June issue (released April 17) of frankie magazine, Australia’s magazine of the year for 2012!

2. All four Cozy Classics titles were displayed in the window of the uber-chic shop Volte Face in London, England during the London Book Fair (April 15 to April 17, 2013). The staff turn the pages to our books once every day to tell the stories!

3. Publishers Weekly reported on April 18, 2013 on Canadian Publishers at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in “News of the North“. Cozy Classics was included in the column, and here’s the blurb:

Love from Reading Rainbow

Yesterday, Cozy Classics received a shout out from LeVar Burton and Reading Rainbow! We’re thrilled that Reading Rainbow sees Cozy Classics as presenting challenging classics “the right way”, able to “capture the imagination of young readers.”
Most of you will remember that Reading Rainbow was an American children’s television series that aired on PBS from the early 1980s until 2006. The show, hosted by LeVar Burton, encouraged reading among children. The program garnered over 200 broadcast awards, including scores of Emmy Awards, many of which were for “Outstanding Children’s Series”. Today, Reading Rainbow has re-launched as an iPad app to encourage literacy in the digital age. Reading Rainbow 2.0 was built from the ground up by LeVar Burton and his company, RRKIDZ. We love that LeVar, after all these years, is still championing children’s literacy! Make it so, LeVar!
Back from Bologna
We spent a wonderful few days at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, participating in the Illustrators Exhibition, talking to foreign-language publishers, and just soaking up the great atmosphere. Here are a few pictures of our time in Italy. With any luck, we’ll be seeing Cozy Classics in many different languages in the near future!
